There are driver bays in the computer system that cause problems for the users and the operating system encourages the users to run the two drives in RAID 1 in order to prevent any loss of data. But here, the user’s hard drive was configured as RAID0 dead drive and considering it was a disaster for that user,.

Now, whenever the user opens the computer system, they hear the humming, faint, repeated sound from the dual fans of the unit of the computer system. After that, the user removed the hard drive and checked it on a different computer system, which confirmed that the hard drive had suffered a click of death. So, here we will discuss efficient and secure steps to recover from dead RAID0 with Bootsect and DiskPart.

What is the RAID 0?

(Disk Striping} RAID 0 is the process of dividing a set of data into blocks and distributing those blocks as redundant groups of independent drives across multiple storage devices, such as hard drives or solid-state drives (SSDs).

What Causes a RAID 0 Drive to Fail?

The main reason:

  1. Sudden power outage or power outage
  2. operating system failure or malfunction;
  3. The operating system disks will be in RAID.
  4. RAID card is damaged.
  5. The disk contains bad sectors.
  6. Disk error.
  7. The disc is completely or partially damaged.
  8. The driver was injured.

Quick Solution: In order to recover corrupted or formatted data from a hard drive, use Computer Data Recovery Tool for an instant solution. This software is able to easily recover photos, videos, music, documents & other multimedia files.

This application is a complete package that can recover lost or deleted data from hard disk of any size. It is useful for users who accidentally lost or delete files from their hard drive. The best thing about this tool is that it can instantly recover GPT partition data.

What is RAID 0 for?

RAID 0 is widely used by server administrators, webmasters, IT professionals and database administrators because:

  1. We provide server services.
  2. Database server and storage.
  3. Web Services.
  4. make a large swimming pool.
  5. Make your computer read and write faster.

Steps to Secure the Hard Drive

The steps to secure the hard drive from dead RAID0 are as follows:

  • Initialize the hard drives for Windows installation and run the utility called BootSect, which configures the hard drive. Now enter the following command:

boots/MBR/nt60 ALL

Note: By entering this command, all the writeable hard drives will be modified. It might represent a conflict if the user chooses to boot from the USB flash drive.

  • Now use the disk part, which is provided with a variety of options from which only a few are useful and are being used to do a particular fix. Now the user must first enter the following command:

disk part

  • After the DiskPart indicates that it has been loaded, now generate the lists of the available hard drives by entering the following command:

list disks

  • At this point, the DiskPart command will identify both the disks installed on the system. But the Windows setup utility will continue to ignore disk 0 because that hard drive has been in the raid0 dead drive array. So with options 1 or 0, enter the following command:

select disk 0

clean

Create a Primary Partition

  • Now don’t pass any parameters for “create partition primary” in DiskPart and it will automatically create the partition that spans the size of the hard disk from the first available part of the hard disk. Now enter the following command:

assign letter=c
format recommended: quick

The Quick Format is like a cutting-edge tool, and it easily cleans the hard drive.

Note: Now repeat the same steps for disk 1 by changing either 0 or 1 and then assigning it the letter D. Also, all the commands will remain the same as well. By performing the above-given steps, it’s very easy to recover data from RAID 0 disks.

Conclusion

There is a lot of time when users find it difficult to install the Windows operating system on their computer. So, by mistake, they install Windows on the RAID0 hard drive, which leads to the death click sound on the hard drive. For the problem above, we discuss some simple steps and commands that will help all the users shift their Windows installation to the RAID1 hard drive instead of the RAID0 dead drive. It can easily crash all the hard drives, and the user won’t be able to recover from dead RAID0 with Bootsect and DiskPart.
